Both the Statue of Liberty and Washington Monument are currently closed

Wasn't sure there would ever be a day this was the case...though both are due to rare natural disasters, it just seems fitting in a way.

I still remember what an adventure it was when, as an eleven-year old, I climbed the stairs to the top of the Washington Monument. Back then, I thought D.C. was the coolest city ever.
